Laser Dentistry

Water lasers used in place of the mechanical drill to remove decay and shape tissue quietly, with little heat and often no anaesthetic injection.

How it works

A hard-tissue laser combines laser energy with a fine water spray to remove decay from enamel and dentine. Because it cuts without friction, vibration or the associated heat, many procedures can be carried out with little or no anaesthetic, and the cut is more selective, so more healthy tooth is preserved. Soft-tissue lasers are used separately for gum work.
