Cavitation Treatment

Treatment of chronic areas of infection and poor healing that can persist in the jawbone at old tooth extraction sites, most often wisdom teeth.

How it works

When an extraction site fails to heal fully, an area of damaged or infected bone can remain. Biological dentists refer to these as cavitations or NICO lesions. Treatment involves cleaning the affected bone surgically, frequently with ozone and sometimes with PRF taken from the patient's own blood to support healing. Diagnosis usually relies on 3D cone-beam imaging alongside symptoms and history. This remains a contested area within mainstream dentistry, so it is worth asking any clinic how the diagnosis is established.
